Hey guys!
Woah!! So It's been 15 days! Wow! During the fast, I drank nothing but juice (and yeah...had a salad)
It's been quite a trip! Transitioning to liquids from solids was really interesting. The first couple of days were really hard, but now I have to say that I can totally survive on liquids if I needed to. Honestly after day 4 it didn't really bother me to much.
My body feels rejuvenated, I've had so much excess energy that I've barely wanted to sit down at my computer (Which I'm guessing you all can tell from my 5 days of not posting!) I've been a lot more active, and I don't feel quite so much like a bum anymore. I've lost weight! I started this fast at 141lbs, and now I'm at 133lbs! I never got the blood test results back from my doctor, but I'm hoping the next time I visit, they'll have them in. I'm going to continue to juice, because it's such a healthy thing to do. It's like an energy drink in a cup, without the crash! Because of this one change in my life, I feel so much happier. I am aware of the food that I'm putting into my body, and feel refreshed. I have clarity of mind. I can think and stay focused more. I can't think of a better way to start off my school year, honestly. This is one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself.
Though the cost of juicing was expensive, I have to say it was worth it. Gathering up all my grocery receipts, I found that it cost me a total of $180 in produce, plus my juicer, which was $150. I don't think that's too bad for all the benefits it brought! I'm now searching for a kickboxing or belly dancing class I can take to release some of that excess energy.
So I just tried to take photos for the after shots, but because its 12:00am with no light, the photos are all dark, so I'll be updating soon with after results. I'm very excited that I'm done with the juicing fast, because now I get to try all kinds of veggie dishes. I've already found some recipes that I'm dying to try! I'm craving a white basil pizza right now, and I can't wait to make it.
I'm now looking forward to making my own food, and never putting in anything that I can't identify into my body. No more high fructose corn syrup. no more fried foods! (Except the occasional fried pickle from Cheeseburger in Paradise!) I'm a pescatarian, so I am still not going to eat poultry or red meats, but I am going to up my leafy dark green intake. I now LOVE kale, and I was never too fond of it before this fast. Oh! I also want to say that I'm going to reboot (juice fast) a couple times a year to stay healthy.
Another thing I want to add. My face is so clear. No breakouts! I haven't had any breakouts since my third day of juicing! There's just so many benefits for doing a juice fast. It's not just the weight loss guys! Do it for your health! Do it for more energy, or to get rid of acne, or to sleep less! I mean heck, I'm SURVIVING on less than 7 hours of sleep now! Usually I'd have to take a nap but once I'm up, I'm up!
I want to continue for a little while with this blog. I'm definitely not going to stop juicing, but I am going to eat solid foods again. I want to add some recipes on here, and help others if they're interested in trying this fast. Comment below, I think I have it set so that anyone can comment, not just Gmail users. (I apologize if I'm wrong) . So please, if you're interested, comment below, or shoot me an email at Gdurma@gmail.com and I can answer some questions, or help you through the process. Its always good to have a buddy helping out. And having family taunt you with delicious dinners sucks, I know first hand. So feel free to email, or comment. Thanks guys for following me!

Days 7, 8, and 9
Hey guys!
So sorry I haven't posted for awhile!! Been a long weekend. a looong one, and I started my college classes yesterday, so Its been hectic for me to keep making juices and bring them to class and what not. When I bring them into my classes, some of my friends want to taste my veggie juice, and others look repulsed. But, it's fun with the guys that want to try some.
Also, I wanted to say that I'm on day 9, and I've lost 9lbs! (Closer to 10, but hey!) People have commented saying I don't need to lose weight, but guys, if I'm consuming veggies and fruits, and getting all of my vitamins and minerals and I'm losing my belly pudge during this, yes, I think there is still room to lose weight. My body will find it's ideal weight during this juicing fast, just like your body will if you do one too, or eat right.
Last night my father's girlfriend and her family came over for dinner and they had this really great, healthy pasta with broccoli. I wanted to dive in so bad, and them just tempting me to eat it was even worse, but I stood strong! I knew that if I ate that pasta, I would be more willing to eat more foods while on the fast. (and also, they'd see me break for pasta, so they'd definitely try to get me to eat other things)
This mornings breakfast:
What's for lunch and dinner:
Also, I still have tons of energy, and want to get up and out during my next two days and work on stock photography. I need an income that will support juicing, and after these 15 days are over, I'll still continue to juice, but I'm going to eat more produce and less crap. I loved my cheezits, but, I have to say goodbye to eating the whole box in one go!
My stomach not only looks smaller, but it feels smaller as well. Its awesome!! I know I promised myself not to, but I tried on those jeans from the before pics on day 1. The jeans fit comfortably now, and don't make my muffin top look so bad! Ha! Its still amazing to me that I've lost this much weight in a healthy way this fast!
One of my classes is nutrition, and we're required to write down everything we eat for three days. I'm already giggling to myself about what my professor's reaction will be when she sees all the produce I'm eating. She'll probably think I'm lying! Ah, I'll send her a link to my blog!
Thanks for staying with me guys!

Day 6
Hey all!
So day 6 was interesting. I moved! Yup. Completely moved in a day. Thanks to my best friend for helping me out. So, now I'm living back in with dad, where there's more fridge room at least. I didn't take photos today, because I didn't really juice a lot. I didn't follow the plan today either because everything was so hectic. I drank the peach delight from last night this morning and for dinner. For lunch, I just quickly made a carrot apple lemon. I brought over my produce from my old house, so I kind of scrapped together what I could and finished unpacking here.
My body still feels great though, and I just did 150 crunches to burn some excess energy. I'll probably have some more coconut water tonight. Also going to go shopping tomorrow to restock. I'll take plenty of photos tomorrow for you guys because I was such a bum today.
Sorry this isn't a big post guys, but thanks for following!

Day 5
Hey all!!
So today, I woke up and juiced my breakfast, which was the morning green glory juice. It consisted of two lemons, 2 apples, 2 cucumbers, 6 celery sticks and a bunch of leafy greens. Which reminds me, I need to restock on Kale. Also, my aunt is getting pretty mad at me now because, oh no, I'm taking up two drawers full of the fridge with all my produce! I forgot to leave room for her philly cheese steak pizza leftovers...
..........
Anyway.
This mornings juice was really good. It tasted almost like lemonade. And there was a BUNCH of veggies in there, which made me feel great and full of energy.
I went off to my mothers house to weigh myself. Aaaaaaaaand I lost 4 lbs!! I'm happy that I'm already seeing a weight difference in the first 5 days. After begging my mother and step-father, I borrowed their scale for the next 10 days. This will help me out, because I get so excited when I see my weight go down. Starting the fast, when I went to my doctors, I weighed 141 lbs. I'm now down to 137, and my goal is 125-130lbs. Hoping by at the end of this fast, I'll be there. With all the energy I have and the walking I'm doing, I can't wait to see!
So this is what all of those veggies in the first photo turned into. It made a LOT of juice! More than any recipe I've tried yet! The cucumbers added a lot of juice, and yet when I drink it, I can barely taste them! Also, I'm having another coconut water as an afternoon snack. And, I think it's growing on me. It didn't taste as bad as the other day. In fact, strangely enough, I kind of enjoyed it. Weird. My taste buds really ARE changing! Oh, I also wanted to say, there's a cashier that works at Hannaford (my grocery store) and I always go to her checkout lane. I spoke with her on the first day of my juice fast and told her about the documentary. I went back again to buy more produce, and she said she had watched the film and was very inspired by it! (Fat Sick and Nearly Dead) That made me very happy to hear. I've been trying to get my aunt into it, but she absolutely refuses. She's got thyroid problems, and I really really think it would help her. My step father is a macho guy whose a meat eater, so he thinks this juice fast is silly, but I can't wait to prove him wrong!
Also, guys, if you could spread the word on my blog, maybe we can inspire others to eat healthier, or have a juice here and there. I'm recording this as I go, and I'm positive that by the end of this, I'll lose more weight. So maybe having people look at a before and after will inspire them? It's for anybody, even the super skinny folks! If my own blog doesn't cut it, check out the reboot site for other people's rebooting stories. http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/category/rebootprofiles/ It all started for them with juicing, just like I'm doing here.
Thanks guys!
Day 4
Hey guys!
So day 4 went pretty great! I woke up feeling refreshed, and had a LOT of energy! I went for a long walk with my dog, (up and down mountains!) and had a blast juicing. I didn't update yesterday because I was cleaning out my computer. I bought a solid state drive, so I was doing a lot of updating, cleaning, and transferring over of data.
Day 4 was good. The only thing negative was that my throat was starting to hurt. I realized that day 4 had a lot of citrus in the juice, so I think that the acid was wearing down my throat a little.
The carrot apple lemon juice (above) was really tasty. It tasted like lemonade with a little bit of carrot in it. It made a lot of juice too! I also tried a new coconut water brand, (because the previous one had too much sugar) and I'm pretty sure this water is what I wanted to get in the first place, because it tastes absolutely terrible! When I threw it out, it made my garbage smell bad too! Oh, also, the pulp that comes out of the juicer is making my garbage wreak too. (my aunt is not happy about that!)
That juice I had with the beets is STILL going through my system! I really dislike the beet juice, and I'm not looking forward to tomorrow's juice, because I think it's coming up again soon....I also had the garden variety juice today as well. It's got some oranges, apples, leafy greens and other good stuff.
It was pretty good too. Tasted like green orange juice, if you can imagine what that tastes like. Though I was craving carbs yesterday, I haven't been craving anything but broccoli today. I feel my taste buds changing, and they want more healthy foods! Oh! one more thing before I end this for today, the purple passion juice. This is by far my favorite juice, and it's a good thing its only meant to be a dessert, because if I could choose what juices I'd drink, I wouldn't drink anything but this one. Its DELICIOUS! I think everyone needs to try it at some point! I'd buy a juicer just for this one drink! Its got grapes, blueberries and mint in it.
I mean just look at that picture! That looks so good, doesn't it?! Unfortunately, because there's so few ingredients, it only makes a little bit of juice. And, because I think it's so good, I usually drink it down in under five minutes. Actually, I said I was happy before, but I realized that I do get sad during this fast..... I get sad when there's no more of this juice left!!! It's that good!! the recipe is 1 pint of blueberries, 30-45 grapes (I personally make it 45 to add more juice!) and 2 handfuls of mint, which I just pluck from my garden out back. I juice the stems and all. Going over to my mom's tomorrow to see how much I weigh, since I don't have a scale here. I want to see if there's a difference to motivate me even more!

Day 3
Carbs.
All I want, are carbs. Potato chips, bread, crackers... ANYTHING! Give me carbs!
I woke up this morning at 12:00pm! Late yesterday, I went for a walk because I had so much energy. Maybe it wore my body out so much and that's the reason I woke up so late. I had a leftover mean green juice today, then went out shopping for more groceries. My fridge wasn't as packed as it had been with leftover food, so I bought 3 days worth of produce for the juicing. It cost me $41.95, and for three days worth, I didn't feel like it was that bad.
Because I woke up so late, I only drank four juices today. I had a leftover mean green, two green lemonades, and a peach delight leftover from day 1. I'm really missing my carbs. It's only day 3!
Green lemonade tasted REALLY sour!
Green lemonade ingredients:
I didn't particularly enjoy this one either. Better than the beet juice I made last night though! I also had a bunch of energy today (After I finally got out of bed that is) and I went swimming. Well, more like dove into the pool and froze my butt off and got back out again, but hey, I used up some of my energy there.
Anyways, ending day 3. Craving carbs.

Day 2
Hello,
So day 1 went by insanely fast. Whenever I got hungry I'd either sip on some coconut water, or have another juice depending on what time it was. I didn't drink all the juice I made, I found it to be too much! I drank 2 carrot-apple-ginger juices, 1 mean green, and 1 peach delight. (The serving for the peach delight was supposed to be one, but it made a heck of a lot more than 1 serving, so I split it)
So I have two juices leftover from yesterday sitting in my fridge. The peach delight and a mean green. I woke up at 9:00am after staying up until about 1:00am. Slept alright. When I woke up, I wanted to stay in bed a little bit and be lazy. Made some more hot lemon water.... still gross! Maybe, hopefully it'll grow on me? Today's juices are the Green citrus, and the Sporty Spice juices. I was supposed to make a dessert, but since I have the leftover juices for yesterday, I'll just use those instead so I don't waste the juice. The green citrus was so good! Probably my favorite by far. I gulped that down surprisingly fast!
It looked just like the mean green juice, but it tasted a lot better. (The mean green wasn't bad) I rather enjoyed my breakfast! I then went on to make my lunch and my dinner, the sporty spice drink. It consisted of beets, oranges, a lemon, celery, and some basil. After I made sure to wash off all the dirt from my beets, I juiced everything up.
And NO that pepsi is not mine! My aunt's addicted to the stuff. Anyways, This is the produce that went into the sporty spice drink. I juiced it all and surprisingly it didn't make a bunch of juice. I first juiced the basil, and realized that it didn't make a lot of juice at all, so I stopped the machine and took it out of the pulp container, bunched it all up and went to turn on my juicer again. However, my juicer didn't turn on! I freaked out! I immediately called customer service, and the lady that answered said that because my juicer wasn't a commercial juicer, it needed time to cool down and reboot. So, I waited a few minutes and turned it on again. Just like she said, it worked! So then I continued to juice the rest of it all. When I was done juicing this sport spice stuff, I poured it into my glass bottles and tasted it. It tasted like DIRT! Seriously, dirt! I even scrubbed off those beets too! Not looking forward to my next juice, because it's the sporty one. Oh well, hold the nose and drink, right?
I also wanted to add, that yesterday I had to pee a LOT. Running to the bathroom like crazy. So, just something to expect.

Day 1
Hey all,
So I'm starting a 15 day juice fast, inspired by the documentary Fat, Sick, And Nearly Dead. I highly recommend it! It's about a man who only drinks juice from veggies and fruits for 60 days. His health dramatically improves, and he inspires others on his journey to a healthier lifestyle. I found this film on Netflix, but you can buy the DVD for around $10.00USD.
I was so inspired after watching this film, that I decided I'd start a juicing fast too. I wasn't going to do it for 60 days though, just 15! I usually eat healthy, and consider myself a pescitarian. I eat veggies, fruits, and fish. However, this past weekend consisted of a trip to the renaissance fair, and a surprise party, where I did nothing but stuff my face with fried and junk foods. So because of that, I decided to start the juice fast today.
The juicer I bought for this fast is the same one in the documentary, the Breville JE98XL 850 watt juicer. It's got a high and low setting for juicing soft and hard veggies and fruits. Great for cutting through hard fruits like apples, and veggies like cucumbers.
I'm also following the Joe Cross reboot plan for 15 days. You can get it here: http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/rebooting/plans/ I'm modifying mine a little. I don't need the first 5 days of easing into the fast, I'm just going for it. So, I started out on day 6. I'm just going to repeat cycle 6-10 for the last 5 days of my fast.
So the first day is hot lemon water as soon as you wake up. Actually, everyday is hot lemon water as soon as you wake up. I always usually order a water with lemon when I go out to eat, and I enjoy it every time. But hot water with lemon is different. I boiled 1/4 of a lemon in water and drank that when I got up this morning. It doesn't taste great, actually I didn't like it at all! It smelled worse than it tasted though, I'll give it that much. Drank all of that, and then I headed off to the store.
Now, because I had just thrown a party, my fridge was packed full of leftover food from the day before. I didn't have a lot of fridge room, so I decided to only shop for two days worth of produce. Glad I did, because when I got back home, it was hard cramming everything into the fridge!
I got to work on juicing, and I made my first juice, the Carrot-Apple-Ginger juice.
The bottles I'm using are from Aquasana. They're 18oz bottles.
I've made an appointment with my doctor today, and I'd like to do a checkup before and after this fast. I'd like to see how much I weigh before and after as well. Also, I'm posting before and after photos to see the changes. But, I just had my first juice, and I enjoyed it. I feel my stomach starting to get upset though, which I've read is normal the first couple of days. I'll be updating every single day to let you guys know how I feel!
I'm off to a healthier lifestyle!

Let's see how this goes!

I got to work on juicing, and I made my first juice, the Carrot-Apple-Ginger juice.
I sliced up all the produce, and snapped a quick picture. It was a lot of stuff! I didn't think it was going to make two servings worth though, but I gave it a try. I juiced up all the produce, and decided I wanted to add a little more ginger, because I didn't think it was enough. I did, and WOW! I was wrong. It only needed a little! Note for next time! Also, it made a lot of juice, so I poured half of it into a glass, and the other half into a glass bottle for later. The juice was pretty good, besides having way too much ginger! There was also a bunch of foam on the top of the juice, which I tried to drink as well. That was the worst part of the ginger taste!
I then made the rest of the day's worth of juices. Joe's Mean Green, and Peach Delight! (I really can't wait for the peach delight!)The bottles I'm using are from Aquasana. They're 18oz bottles.
I've made an appointment with my doctor today, and I'd like to do a checkup before and after this fast. I'd like to see how much I weigh before and after as well.
